Recognition Given to Employees
Frequent “Round of Applause” Updates:
The commissioner solicits excellent examples of customer service throughout the agency. The MIA Communications team shares “Rounds of Applause” on our intranet page and in our employee newsletter. In FY22, we recognized 35 employees.
Employee Newsletter:
The MIA Communications team continues to produce an employee newsletter called Around the Water Cooler for employee engagement and morale. It includes a column by the Commissioner, an Employee Spotlight, employee-contributed content and agency information.
Virtual Employee Appreciation Event and Social Hours:
The Commissioner hosted an Employee Appreciation Event, recognizing service anniversaries, and hosted several all-staff informational meetings throughout the year.
Employee Appreciation Events - In-Person:
The MIA has a Spirit Committee that meets regularly to plan events and activities to improve employee morale and teamwork. Since the pandemic, in-person events were on hold, but in FY22 we were happy to host 2 in-person events at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium. in-person events at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium.
